Become a Heart Saver – Sports Clubs Initiative
New Zealand is a country full of sports lovers. Rugby, football, netball, hockey, bowls, archery, swimming – you name it and there will be hundreds of Kiwis who are out there doing it each and every weekend. Close to three quarters of adults (74%) take part in some sort of sport or reactional activity each week*.We love this! But we want to make sure you’re safe in doing it, too…
- Do you have an AED/defib?
- Are at least a few members of your team trained in CPR?
- Is your first aid kit fully stocked?
WE URGE ALL SPORTS CLUBS IN NEW ZEALAND TO INVEST IN A DEFIB.
Think of your players, your supporters, managers, coaches, refs, the kids playing on the sideline… Weekends are a busy time for ambulances – having an AED on hand may be the difference between life and death.
If you belong to a NZ sports club, we want to help you.
We will give you $250 towards any purchase of an AED7000 AED or $300 towards any purchase of an AED7000 and wall cabinet/bracket.
Just use the code SPORT2018 at checkout for an AED or SPORTCOMBO2018 for the AED and storage.
Dr John Mayhew
“I implore every single sports club to get an AED, for the safety of their players, their supporters and their wider team. It’s not a purchase you’d ever regret.”
“Every day, Kiwis die of cardiac arrest – often, on the playing field. Look after yourself – and your club – by having an AED on hand.”
Professor Harvey White
“All sports clubs in NZ should have an AED on-site. As a heart specialist, I strongly support any initiative that encourages more AEDs around New Zealand.”
We are on a mission to get more AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) around New Zealand to save more lives. Our Become a Heart Saver Campaign is all about educating Kiwis on why we need more AEDs – having one close to hand really can be the difference between life and death. Just ask Dr John Mayhew, whose life was saved by the use of one.
