About Heart Saver

Managing Director
Mike is the founder of Heart Saver NZ and brings years of hands-on experience in the AED and emergency response space. He completed 28 years as a volunteer with the NZ Fire Service and is passionate about making life-saving equipment and training accessible to all New Zealanders. As Managing Director, Mike leads the team with a practical, people-first approach – and he’s always up for a challenge, regularly taking on marathons and endurance multisport events like Ironman and Coast to Coast.

Director
Helen is Heart Saver’s organisational powerhouse. With more than 20 years’ experience in the corporate and pharmaceutical world — and as an Associate Chartered Accountant — she now wears many hats across finance, logistics, and marketing. Helen keeps the wheels turning and the whiteboards full (and colour-coded!). Friendly, down-to-earth, and always ready to help, she’s passionate about making sure things run smoothly for both the team and our customers.

Operations Manager
After 10 years in the finance industry, Shannon went on to spend another decade in various sales roles within Auckland before becoming a stay-at-home mum for five years. We’re pleased to have her fabulous admin and customer service skills at Heart Saver, where she helps us in the office with ensuring our customer service is top-notch and generally keeping the boys in line!

Southern Regional Manager
Based in Christchurch, Grant leads Heart Saver’s operations across the South Island, focusing on testing, training, and business development. He brings extensive leadership experience from previous roles, including Branch Manager at Repco Hornby and over a decade of service as a Senior Firefighter with the Rangiora Volunteer Fire Brigade. Outside of work, Grant enjoys restoring his classic Mini, home renovations, and sharing a good dad joke. He’s excited to be part of the Heart Saver team.

Relationship Manager
Kevin has been involved in the sales environment since returning from overseas many (many) years ago. Sales roles have included Account Management through to National Sales Manager with his last position being a Business Development Manager - a role which he held for 14 years. Kevin places strong emphasis on customer service and the importance of building lasting professional relationships. Outside of his children and grandchildren Kevin likes to keep fit, have a game of golf or go out in the boat fishing when time allows.

Training & Testing Facilitator
Mark comes to Heart Saver after 23 years on the road as a front-line paramedic. For the last 15 years, Mark has also been a volunteer at his local fire station as a firefighter and first responder. Mark has a passion for helping others and likes to share his knowledge, expertise and stories. His position at Heart Saver allows him to train and educate New Zealanders in First Aid and AED use, having personally seen the difference these skills can make in an emergency situation. In his spare time, he enjoys running to keep fit, hiking and spending time with his family.

Training & Testing Facilitator
Ian brings a wealth of first aid knowledge to the Heart Saver team after working in Fire/Ambulance/Air Ambulance rescue for 30 years. He also still regularly volunteers for his local fire station. Having worked as a First Aid Instructor for a number of organisations, including the Fire Service, he is highly motivated to empower people with the confidence and skills to save a life. A few of his favourite things include M&Ms, his children and his dog. He enjoys working with the like-minded team at Heart Saver, who believe in what they are delivering.

First Aid Training & Safety Monitor Coordinator
Staycee brings over a decade of admin experience and a strong focus on customer service to her role as First Aid Training and Safety Monitor Coordinator. Known for her positive attitude and efficiency, she ensures training and safety processes run smoothly while keeping everything well-organised and on track. She works closely with our trainers to coordinate sessions and provide support across the team. Outside of work, she enjoys family time and has a slight obsession with reality TV.

Scheduling Coordinator
Hannah brings a background in hospitality, administration, and healthcare, with previous roles at Eden Park and in medical reception. After time spent raising her family, she’s enjoying being back at work and part of the Heart Saver team. Based in West Auckland, Hannah loves the outdoors, good books, and time with her teenagers.

Scheduling Assistant
Michelle is one of the friendly faces on the scheduling team. She uses her strong organisational skills to ensure AED testing runs smoothly for customers. Prior to Heart Saver, Michelle had a long history in the dental world. She has a passion for life and is thankful for the “little things” – including being able to get out regularly in Mother Nature. She loves the diverse strengths and backgrounds of everyone at Heart Saver, each person contributing to the strong and vibrant team.

Customer & Sales Support
Sinead joined Heart Saver after a varied background in retail and childcare, but with a genuine interest in the healthcare industry, and a passion for helping others. Her friendly nature and eye for detail ensures we are able to provide the best possible service to our customers. Sinead is busy mum to her teenage son and in her spare time can be found spending time with her nieces and nephews and all the adventures that come with them.
