Meet the caring and knowledgeable team behind Heart Saver
Mike is an AED specialist with extensive emergency service background – he’s been a volunteer with the NZ Fire Service for a whopping 25 years! He is a medic and NZRC Certified to Level 3. If you’ve been taught first aid by Mike, you won’t forget it in a hurry – he is passionate about teaching practical skills to enable people to confidently and competently provide assistance in emergency situations.
Helen is an associate chartered accountant by trade and has over twenty years’ experience in the corporate and pharmaceutical environment. At Heart Saver, Helen’s key role is overseeing the financial, marketing and logistical aspects of the business, making sure everything is organised and runs smoothly. Her whiteboards are a sight to be seen… Helen is friendly and compassionate, and enthusiastic about helping Heart Saver customers.
After 10 years in the finance industry, Shannon went on to spend another decade in various sales roles within Auckland before becoming a stay-at-home mum for five years. We’re pleased to have her fabulous admin and customer service skills at Heart Saver, where she helps us in the office with ensuring our customer service is top-notch and generally keeping the boys in line!
Sinead joined Heart Saver after a varied background in retail and childcare, but with a genuine interest in the healthcare industry, and a passion for helping others. Her friendly nature and eye for detail ensures we are able to provide the best possible service to our customers. Sinead is busy mum to her teenage son and in her spare time can be found spending time with her nieces and nephews and all the adventures that come with them.
Kevin has been involved in the sales environment since returning from overseas many (many) years ago. Sales roles have included Account Management through to National Sales Manager with his last position being a Business Development Manager - a role which he held for 14 years. Kevin places strong emphasis on customer service and the importance of building lasting professional relationships. Outside of his children and grandchildren Kevin likes to keep fit, have a game of golf or go out in the boat fishing when time allows.
Mark comes to Heart Saver after 23 years on the road as a front-line paramedic. For the last 15 years, Mark has also been a volunteer at his local fire station as a firefighter and first responder. Mark has a passion for helping others and likes to share his knowledge, expertise and stories. His position at Heart Saver allows him to train and educate New Zealanders in First Aid and AED use, having personally seen the difference these skills can make in an emergency situation. In his spare time, he enjoys running to keep fit, hiking and spending time with his family.
Ian brings a wealth of first aid knowledge to the Heart Saver team after working in Fire/Ambulance/Air Ambulance rescue for 30 years. He also still regularly volunteers for his local fire station. Having worked as a First Aid Instructor for a number of organisations, including the Fire Service, he is highly motivated to empower people with the confidence and skills to save a life. A few of his favourite things include M&Ms, his children and his dog. He enjoys working with the like-minded team at Heart Saver, who believe in what they are delivering.
Neil is a self-professed Jack-of-all-trades with previous experience as a service technician and account manager. He also has experience as a first aid trainer through his volunteer work in the NZ Fire Service. Most recently he worked for Auckland Council on various infrastructure projects. He's ready for this role having previously "time travelled" around New Zealand in his work, and is no stranger to either the Auckland traffic or early airport starts! He has a real passion for first aid training and the ability to empower others to help make a difference on someone's worst day. He loves dogs, cats and heading out on emergency response callouts.
Michelle is one of the friendly faces on the scheduling team. She uses her strong organisational skills to ensure AED testing runs smoothly for customers. Prior to Heart Saver, Michelle had a long history in the dental world. She has a passion for life and is thankful for the “little things” – including being able to get out regularly in Mother Nature. She loves the diverse strengths and backgrounds of everyone at Heart Saver, each person contributing to the strong and vibrant team.
As office administrator, Holly manages reception, processes orders and assists customers with queries and requests. She is a friendly and helpful first line of contact for customers and vendors. Always busy, Holly also teaches children’s art classes at the local art gallery and is a swim instructor. A talented artist, she has exhibited in group and solo art shows since graduating with Honours in Fine Art. If you want to make Holly smile, she loves a silly joke. She enjoys working as part of the Heart Saver team because what we do makes a difference (and we have numerous silly jokes on offer too).
Catherine has more than twenty years of experience in graphic design and marketing, both within New Zealand and abroad. Passionate about adding value wherever she is, she loves telling meaningful stories. Heart Saver allows her to do this by creating greater public awareness around its life-saving products and services. Spare time is scarce for her currently as she pursues a Masters in Creative Arts Therapy, but she enjoys hiking, camping and walks with her dog, Nelly.
